Well, our time in Berlin certainly didn’t get off to a slow start!
Somehow squeezed into our day of walking, sightseeing, running, eating, running-eating, walking, sightseeing and frantic phone calling were some journalistic learnings, as easy as they are to overlook on a jam-packed international experience like this.
Nica Junker taught us about dérive, an explorative technique I’d always found very fulfilling and beneficial, but never considered adding to my storytelling arsenal. Without imposed restrictions, walking Berlin’s streets opened up avenues of the mind and lubricated our creative pistons. The exercise was fantastically eye-opening, giving us an excuse for loose interpretation and expanded potential for great ideas.
Most importantly though, I’ll forever remember Monday 20 March 2023 as the day I shot to worldwide fame and cultural domination after “taking over” the DMJX Instagram page…
