Today we went sightseeing to many landmarks as well as the Bandenburg gate. It was really helpful that Elise shared with us her knowledge about the monuments and Berlin’s history. But, for me, the highlight of the day was that we visited the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. The peculiarity of this monument impelled me to do some online research about why this structure constructed this way and what symbolises. This is how I found out about its underground information centre about the victims and the locations, designed by the same architect, which I would really like to visit.

Additionally, and despite being half an hour late, we had a really interesting lecture and a group task around the city, about a new concept called “dérive”. It helped me discover new possible ways to find stories in a city and I think that this was the journalistic learning point of the day along with my need to do research about whatever catched my attention during our visits.
